The Format

DEKA (by Spartan) is an indoor fitness competition across 10 functional training zones. It runs in three formats — DEKA STRONG (zones only), DEKA MILE (zones + 1 mile of running), and DEKA FIT (zones + 5 km of running).

DEKA MILE, STRONG & DEKA ATLAS: CrossFit Berzerk is a training or simulation event — a practice-format session rather than an official DEKA FIT championship race. It follows the same movement patterns, which makes it a common way to test pacing before entering a full race.
